Situation:

  • O&G Super Major wanted to address a staffing gap in technical computing support for Earth Scientists
  • The decision was made to design an internal 2 year training program to train the needed professionals
  • The Project Manager needed a SME in learning and development with G&G background to help with program design/delivery strategy

Engagement:

  • Enaxis manager was engaged to provide SME support:
  • Provided strategic guidance in materials design
  • Produce communication materials including tri-fold brochure and SharePoint site
  • Designed participant workbook and On-the-Job activity worksheets
  • Performed quality check on work around competency design

Results:

  • The program is on schedule for launch in early Feb. 2012
  • Materials were upgraded and their design used for the SharePoint site, and copied as a model by other projects
  • Participant enrollment is at capacity with interest level high
  • Leadership is already proposing cloning the program for use with two new subject areas
